USC Upstate takes down Montreat 101-55

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) Ty Greene scored 18 points and had five steals as USC Upstate beat NAIA member Montreat 101-55 on Tuesday night.

Josh Cuthbertson had 14 points, on 7-of-12 shooting, with seven rebounds and seven assists for Upstate (10-4). Ramel Thompkins, Jacob Schulte and Tristan Thomas had 12 points apiece and Michael Buchanan added 10.

Upstate won its 10th game before the start of January for the first time in school history.

Will Lewis led Montreat with 14 points and Joshua Foster had 11. The Cavaliers were held to 19-of-50 shooting (38 percent), turned the ball over 22 times and were outrebounded 41-27.

Upstate jumped out to a 50-19 lead by halftime and opened the second half on a 14-5 run for a 40-point lead.

It was Upstate's third time over the century mark this season - all against non-Division I opponents.
