Colgate outlasts Lehigh 68-61

BETHLEMEM, Pa. (AP) Ethan Jacobs scored 24 points - making all nine shots from the floor, including four 3-pointers - and Colgate outlasted Lehigh 68-61 in the teams' Patriot League opener.

The Raiders (4-10) closed the first half on an 11-4 spurt to take a 34-29 lead into the break. Jacobs drilled 3-pointers on consecutive possessions at the start of the second as Colgate used a 17-2 run to go up 20 and pull away from Lehigh for good - though a similar 17-2 run by the Mountain Hawks to end the game made the final score close.

Colgate's Damon Sherman-Newsome finished with 12 points and Matt McMullan added 10, while Austin Tillotson had 10 assists. Colgate enjoyed a 34-26 advantage on the boards and shot 58 percent including 10 of 20 from beyond the arc.

Kahron Ross led Lehigh with 15 points and seven assists. Tim Kempton added 14 points.
