Cochran's 33 leads Wofford past Chattanooga 68-64

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) Karl Chochran knocked down a pair of 3-pointers in the final minute and scored his team's final eight points as Wofford held off Tennessee-Chattanooga 68-64 in a key Southern Conference showdown Monday night.

Wofford (11-4, 2-0 Southern Conference) was the preseason favorite to win the conference, but Chattanooga (9-7, 2-1) was a close second and the game proved to be every bit as tight as the poll.

Cochran knocked down a pair of free throws with 1:42 left to tie the game at 62, but Justin Tuoyo dunked with 1:27 left to give Chattanooga a 64-62 lead.

Cochran, who finished with a career-high 33 points, drilled a three to give the Terriers the lead for good, 65-64, with :57 left and nailed the game down with his career-high 6th 3 with :07 left.

Casey Jones scored 21 points to lead the Mocs. Justin Tuoyo added 19 points and 13 rebounds.
