Maryland has added Ivan Bender to its roster, the school announced on Thursday.

Bender, who is eligible to play immediately, has played for the U-18 Croatian National Team and KK Split in the Junior Euroleague.

The 6-foot-9, 230-pound forward is a native of Caplijina, Bosnia.

"We are excited to have Ivan join our program," Maryland coach Mark Turgeon said in a news release. "He is terrific young man who will be a great addition to our team."

The No. 11 Terrapins (14-2) play at Purdue on Saturday.
