NORMAN, Okla. (AP) Buddy Hield couldn't miss.

Literally.

Oklahoma's junior guard scored 27 points on 10-for-10 shooting to help the 18th-ranked Sooners defeat No. 24 Oklahoma State 82-65 on Saturday night.

''One of the best players in America, and he showed it,'' Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford said. ''I've got a lot of respect for him. I understand how hard he works. I hear all those things. I know he's more than capable of doing that. I would like to say we didn't do a good job, but he earned them.''

Hield also made 4 of 4 3-pointers.

''My teammates found me in good spots in transition, and Ryan (Spangler) got me open,'' Hield said. ''I just stepped up and made some shots, but I couldn't do it without them finding me.''

Jordan Woodard scored 13 points, Spangler had 11 points and 11 rebounds and TaShawn Thomas added 10 points for the Sooners (12-5, 3-2 Big 12), who snapped a two-game skid and got their third win over a ranked team in conference play.

Oklahoma State's Le'Bryan Nash and Phil Forte, the top two scorers in the Big 12, were held in check. Nash scored 15 points, but he made just 6 of 15 shots. Forte scored 11 points on 3-for-11 shooting.

''Throughout practice, that's one thing we talked about - Forte and Nash, telling each other things they like to do and how to take them away,'' Thomas said. ''I feel like we practiced hard and we executed it in the game.''

Leyton Hammonds scored 15 points and Anthony Hickey added 14 for the Cowboys, who lost their second straight.

Oklahoma State missed its first 15 3-pointers before finally making one with just over 11 minutes remaining. The Cowboys (12-5, 2-3) shot 37 percent overall.

Oklahoma State hung around early, but Oklahoma extended its lead late in the first half. Hield caught a long pass from Jordan Woodard and converted a layup, then Hield made a 3-pointer on the next trip down the floor to put the Sooners up 33-16 with just over 4 minutes left before the break. Another 3 by Hield extended the lead to 20.

Hield scored 18 points on 6-for-6 shooting in the first half to give the Sooners a 41-20 lead at the break. Ford said his team's effort in the first half was poor.

''I've addressed it with my team,'' he said. ''I'll leave it at that.''

The game was never close in the second half, and the Sooners finished the game in style. Hield threw down a powerful putback jam, then Spangler dunked on Oklahoma State's Michael Cobbins, the No. 2 shot blocker in the Big 12. Spangler made the free throw after Cobbins' foul to put Oklahoma up 78-59, prompting Oklahoma's fans to chant ''Little Brother.''

''Buddy was fantastic,'' Oklahoma coach Lon Kruger said. ''He made shots early when we needed them, and made some late when they thought about making a run. He hit a couple big shots at those moments.''

The Cowboys lost to Kansas on Tuesday in their previous game, and were looking to bounce back. Instead, they left with their second-worst loss of the season.

''I think we forgot we lost against Kansas,'' Hickey said. ''We didn't come in and compete as we should have.''
