North Florida holds off Northern Kentucky 74-66

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (AP) Chris Davenport had 24 points on 7-of-9 shooting and Beau Beech hit a late 3-pointer to help North Florida hold off Northern Kentucky 74-66 on Thursday night.

Beech's 3 stretched the Ospreys lead to 65-58 with 2:10 left and North Florida (12-9, 4-0 Atlantic Sun) made 7 of 10 free throws in the final minute to hold on.

Dallas Moore added 19 points and Beech finished with 14 points and seven rebounds. North Florida won its fifth straight with three of its four conference wins on the road.

Chad Jackson had 26 points, Jalen Billups scored 18 and Tyler White added 12 points for Northern Kentucky (8-11, 2-2). The Norse trailed by 11 points in the second half before an 8-0 run pulled them within 48-45. NKU never got closer, but Jordan Jackson's layup made it just 62-58 with 2:31 to play.
