Curry was 7 of 12 from the floor, had three 3-pointers and was good on all eight free throw attempts. Yohanny Dalembert had 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting with nine rebounds, while Joey McLean had 11 and Dimitrije Cabarkapa added 10 points.
JMU (16-11, 9-5 Colonial) trailed early, but hit 3-pointers on four straight possessions including Cabarkapa's, which gave the Dukes the lead - for good - midway through the half.
Elon cut the deficit to four on Dmitri Thompson's dunk with 13:30 to go, but Winston Grays responded with a 3-pointer. JMU's Paulius Satkus then made a pair from the line and, after Thompson made a jumper, a layup to put the lead back to nine. An eight-point spurt later created a 13-point JMU lead with 2:07 left.
Elijah Bryant led Elon (11-16, 3-11) with 18 points.
