BALTIMORE (AP) Worth Smith scored 20 points to lead Navy to a 57-47 win over Loyola-Maryland on Saturday.

Will Kelly added 14 points and Brandon Venturini 11 for the Midshipmen (12-18, 8-10 Patriot League). Venturini to become the 22nd Navy player to surpass 1,000 points.

Cam Gregory had 13 points and Eric Laster 12 for the Greyhounds (11-18, 7-11).

Navy scored the first seven points of the game and when Smith scored on three straight possessions, including a pair of 3-pointers, the score was 15-5. A Venturini 3 started another run that Kelly ended with a pair of baskets to make it 24-7 just past the midway point. The Midshipmen led 32-21 at the break.

Loyola scored the first seven points of the second half to close within four but Smith scored on consecutive possessions to end a 9-1 run that rebuilt the lead to 51-37 with 9:28 left.

Navy made seven 3s to just one for Loyola.
