Ohio State's D'Angelo Russell bleeds after taking elbow shot to face

Ohio State guard D'Angelo Russell was hit in the face by the elbow of VCU's Doug Brooks while driving to the hoop late in Thursday's Round of 64 game between the teams.


Controversial goaltending call sends UCLA over SMU

Brooks was called for a flagrant-1 foul on the play and Russell was seen bleeding after the hit, which caused a delay in the game.


Russell is Ohio State's leading scorer on the season, averaging 19.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game.

The freshman finished with 28 points, six rebounds, two steals and two blocks against VCU and had this move with a minute remaining in overtime.


The Buckeyes beat the Rams 75-72 in overtime.
