Hopkins 2nd player to leave Colorado Buffaloes

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) Sophomore guard Jaron Hopkins is leaving the Colorado men's basketball program, becoming the second player who's decided to transfer since the Buffaloes finished the season with a 16-18 record.

Coach Tad Boyle gave no reason for Hopkins' decision, but wished him well.

Hopkins played in all 67 games in his two years with the Buffaloes, averaging 5.3 points and 2.9 rebounds. The Mesa, Arizona, native posted career highs last season in points (187), rebounds (107), assists (42) and steals (32).

Last month, part-time starter Dustin Thomas announced he'd leave the Buffs.
