MIAMI (AP) Luke Eddy had 17 points and six assists and a pair of baskets in the final minute that helped Elon hold of Florida International 77-71 on Friday night.

Christian Hairston scored all the points in a 10-0 run that gave Elon (5-3) the lead at 69-65 with 1:20 left. Donte McGill and Kimar Williams cut the deficit to two on consecutive FIU (4-4) possessions, but Eddy answered each time and the Phoenix made four free throws in the final nine seconds.

Hairston scored 16 points, Tanner Samson 15 and Dainan Swoope 11. Samson was 5 of 12 on 3-pointers. With his third triple of the night and the 265th of his career, he passed Jack Isenbarger for the program record for career 3-pointers.

McGill sank 10 of 13 from the field for a career-high 25 points with eight rebounds to lead the Golden Panthers. Adrian Diaz added 15 points.
