McReynolds, Eastern Illinois beat Hannibal-LaGrange 78-53

CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) Demetrius McReynolds hit four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points, while Trae Anderson scored 10 points with six assists to help Eastern Illinois beat NAIA Hannibal-LaGrange 78-53 Monday night.

Casey Teson scored 11 points and Cornell Johnston added 10 points and two steals for Eastern Illinois (3-9), which ended a five-game skid.

Hannibal-LaGrange led by three midway through the first half, but a 3-pointer by Teson sparked a 10-2 run which gave Eastern Illinois a 28-23 lead fewer than three minutes later. After Demetrius Early hit a 3 for the Trojans, McReynolds hit back-to-back 3s to cap an 8-0 spurt and put the Panthers up by 10.

Eastern Illinois took a 45-31 advantage into the break and led by double figures the rest of the way.

Five straight points by Teson gave the Panthers their biggest lead, 70-49, with 5:54 left.

Tim Pace led the Trojans with 11 points.
