UC Santa Barbara cruises to 87-46 win over D-II Point Loma

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) Gabe Vincent scored 22 points and UC Santa Barbara won its first home game with an 87-46 victory over Division II Point Loma on Saturday night.

Vincent was 9 of 13 from the floor with four 3-pointers. Sam Beeler added 14 points on 7-of-7 shooting for UC Santa Barbara (6-7), which has won four straight since snapping a five-game skid. Michael Bryson chipped in 13 points, and Eric Childress had five assists with three steals.

The Gauchos have played only three home games, and start their Big West Conference schedule at Hawaii on Jan 9.

Sam Okhotin scored 13 points to lead Point Loma.

The Gauchos started on a 23-8 run and built a 43-14 halftime lead. Vincent scored 13 points and Beeler 12 in the first half.

It was the first meeting between the schools.
