Wednesday January 13th, 2016

Morgantown, W. Va. proved to be unfriendly territory for Kansas on Tuesday, as the top-ranked Jayhawks were upset by No. 11 West Virginia 74–63.

The Mountaineers took a 17–14 lead on a Nathan Adrian three with 11:44 remaining in the first half and never trailed the rest of the way. Kansas struggled to find rhythm offensively, committing a season-high 22 turnovers.

Jaysean Paige lead all scorers with 26 points, while Devin Williams tallied 17 points and 12 rebounds.

The loss is the second for the Jayhawks (14–2) this season and the third straight to West Virginia.

West Virginia (15–1) is off to its best start in a season since 1982, when the school won 24 of its first 25 games. The Mountaineers are undefeated in Big 12 conference play.

The Mountaineers will be tested again later on this week, playing No. 2 Oklahoma on Saturday.
