Jared Terrell scores 25, Rhode Island beats Fordham 79-63

KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) Jared Terrell scored a career-high 25, while Jarvis Garrett tied a career high with four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points and six assists to help Rhode Island beat Fordham 79-63 Monday night.

Hassan Martin had 11 points and nine rebounds for Rhode Island, which made 10 3-pointers.

Garrett made three 3s during as Rhode Island (12-8, 4-3 Atlantic 10) scored 13 straight to take a 24-13 lead with 9:34 left in the first half.

David Pekarek scored five in a row to pull Fordham (11-8, 2-6) within one with 15:52 to play, but couldn't get over the hump as Martin and Terrell scored four apiece during an 8-1 run that made it 51-43 about three minutes later.

Fordham went without a field goal for nearly eight minutes to finish the game as Rhode Island closed the game on a 13-4 run.

Ryan Rhoomes led Fordham with 18 points and 10 boards.
