Green's jumper helps Hofstra sink Elon 66-64

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) Juan'ya Green made the game-winning jumper from the left wing with 2.1 seconds left to lift Hofstra over Elon 66-64 Thursday night.

Hofstra's Desure Buie blocked Luke Eddy's half-court shot at the buzzer to secure the win for the Pride (15-6, 7-2 Colonial Athletic Association).

Rokas Gustys had 23 points and 19 rebounds to lead Hofstra. Ameen Tanksley added 13 points, Green scored 12 and Denton Koon 11.

Elon had the ball with 35.6 seconds left after Koon tied it for Hofstra with 1 of 2 free throws. Eddy missed the front end of a 1-and-1 with 17.3 seconds left.

Elon trailed by 13 with 6 1/2 minutes to go but used a 12-1 run to take the lead at 64-63 on Christian Hairston's dunk with 1:12 left. Hofstra pulled away with an 11-0 run to start the second half.

Dmitri Thompson had 17 points, Hairston 12 and Eddy 10 for the Phoenix.
