Joe Reed hit all six of his field-goal attempts and scored 17 points for the Mastodons (18-6, 7-2), who are in a four-way first-place tie. IPFW shot 56 percent, 45 percent on 3-pointers. Michael Calder scored 16 points as did DeAngelo Stewart, who made 4 of 6 3-point tries and scored all but two of his points in the second half.
IPFW led 38-34 at halftime but then pulled away with Stewart's 3-pointer with 16:18 left giving the Mastodons a double-digit lead for good.
The Mastodons have matched the 18-6 start made by 2013-14 squad, who went on to finish 25-11, the program's best Division-I season.
