Wednesday February 3rd, 2016

Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski missed Tuesday’s game against Georgia Tech due to illness, according to a press release from the school’s athletic department.

“After the team meal last evening, he was feeling under the weather and stayed back in Durham, where he was evaluated at Duke University Hospital and directed by his doctors to remain home,” the release states.

Associate head coach Jeff Capel filled against the Yellow Jackets. Duke won the game 80–71 behind 27 points from Grayson Allen.

According to the release, Krzyzewski is expected to return to his coaching duties “soon.”

Per the school, Krzyzewski had not missed a game as the Blue Devils’ coach since the 1994–95 season, when a back injury forced him to sit out 19 games.

Duke moved to 16–6 after Tuesday night’s win, while Georgia Tech fell to 12–10.
