Rachel Banham’s buzzer beater lifted Minnesota over Iowa 78–76 on Monday.
With her team trailing by one point, the redshirt senior netted a three-pointer as time expired to secure the dramatic win. She finished with 35 points.
Following the game, Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant tweeted his appreciation for Banham’s play, calling her “Clutch” and saying, “not many players can side fade, let alone for a game winner #mambablood.”

On Monday, Banham was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll for the fifth time this season after scoring 32 points in her team’s win against Nebraska on Thursday.
On Feb. 7, she tied the NCAA women’s basketball scoring record with 60 points in a double overtime victory over Northwestern.
Entering Monday’s game, Banham was averaging 26.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest.
