Wagner clinches NEC title 69-54 over St. Francis (Pa.)

NEW YORK (AP) Corey Henson made 3 of 6 from 3-point range and scored 24 to help Wagner clinch the Northeast Conference regular season crown, 69-54 over St. Francis (Pa.) on Thursday night.

Wagner took the lead for good on its first points - a Henson 3-pointer - after St. Francis scored the opening basket. The Seahawks (19-9, 12-5) got out to a 30-12 lead.

The Red Flash (13-15, 9-8) trailed by nine at the break and closed within 39-33 early in the second half. Wagner then pushed its lead to 61-41 with a 14-3 run near the midpoint of the second half and held it in double digits from there.

Michael Carey had 11 points and 11 rebounds and Dwaun Anderson added 10 points for Wagner.

Greg Brown scored 15 points and Ronnie Drinnon had 13 to lead St. Francis.
