DOVER, Del. (AP) Christian Kessee scored 22 points and Terry Harris recorded his ninth double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds as Coppin State defeated Delaware State 72-62 on Thursday night.
Kessee drained five 3-pointers as part of his 8-for-18 shooting. Harris made just four field goals but was 12 of 13 at the free throw line, where Coppin State picked up 19 points. Josh Treadwell added 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Eagles (8-21, 6-10, Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference).
The Eagles were hot in the first half, hitting all nine of their 3-pointers - out of 14 made field goals - while staking out a 45-32 lead by halftime.
Harris built Coppin State's lead to 65-46 after Harris, after taking an elbow to the face and sinking two foul shots on the technical with 8:19 to play.
Devin Morgan scored 17 points and DeAndre Haywood 13 to lead Delaware State (7-24, 5-11).
