UC Santa Barbara cruises past UC Davis 87-61 in Big West

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) Michael Bryson scored 24 points, Gabe Vincent added 20 and fifth-seeded UC Santa Barbara led the whole way to beat No. 4 seed UC Davis 87-61 in a Big West tournament quarterfinal game on Thursday.

The Gauchos (18-12) will play in the quarterfinals on Friday. The Big West sets quarterfinals matchups based on seeding.

Bryson and Vincent were both 8 of 12 from the field. Bryson hit 5 of 7 3s, Vincent 3 of 6. The Gauchos shot 54 percent and went 11 of 23 on 3-point attempts. The Gauchos outrebounded UCD 38-27.

Siler Schneider and Brynton Lemar scored 16 points apiece for UC Davis (11-19).

UCSB led by eight points midway through the first half, but outscored the Aggies 14-3 the rest of the half and led 42-23 at intermission.
