Reports: TCU fires head coach Trent Johnson

Monday March 14th, 2016

TCU has fired coach Trent Johnson after a fourth straight losing season, according to multiple reports.

Johnson, 59, had coached the Horned Frogs since 2012, going 49–74 overall and 8–60 in Big 12 play. TCU finished 10th in the conference standings with a 2–16 record this year.

Before joining TCU, Johnson coached LSU to an NCAA tournament and an NIT in four seasons on campus. He finished his tenure 67–62.

Simmons and LSU won’t play in postseason

Johnson had two more years remaining on the six-year deal he signed with TCU in 2012.
