Duke, Miami, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Syracuse and Virginia all beat their second-round opponents to advance to the Sweet 16.
The field of teams for the NCAA tournament’s Sweet 16 is set, and the ACC broke a tournament record by sending six teams to the third round.
Duke, Miami, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Syracuse and Virginia all beat their respective opponents in the second round to advance to the Sweet 16. The only ACC tournament team to lose was Pittsburgh, which was defeated by Wisconsin on Friday.
None of the ACC teams are scheduled to face each other in the next round, meaning there is a chance the Elite Eight could be composed almost entirely of teams from that conference.
ESPN’s Darren Rovell reports the ACC could make $30.3 million over the next six years from this tournament’s showing.
