UNLV will hire Arkansas-Little Rock’s Chris Beard as its new head basketball coach, according to multiple reports.

Beard’s contract will be for five years, according to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman.

Beard led the Trojans to a 30–5 record and a trip to the NCAA tournament in 2015–16. Twelfth-seeded Little Rock knocked off No. 5 Purdue in the first round.

The Runnin’ Rebels had been searching for a coach after the resignation of Dave Rice in January. UNLV finished sixth in the MWC this season at 8–10 and went 18–15 overall.
