Virginia Tech sophomore guard Jalen Hudson has decided to transfer to Florida.

Virginia Tech guard Jalen Hudson has decided to transfer to Florida, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

Hudson is coming off a sophomore campaign where he averaged 8.4 points and 2.3 rebounds. In his 62 games for for Buzz Williams and the Hokies, he started 27 times. He dropped a career-high 28 points in the NIT tournament against Princeton.

Hudson will not be eligible to play in the 2016–17 season due to transfer rules but will have two years of eligibility remaining when he becomes active again.

The Gators have also added Canyon Barry, son of Rick Barry, who played for Charleston and averaged 19.7 points last season.

Florida finished last season with a 21–15 record in Mike White's first season as head coach.
