Pennsylvania prep shooting guard Walker chooses Miami

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) Shooting guard Lonnie Walker of Reading, Pennsylvania, has accepted a scholarship offer from the Miami Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes made the announcement on Wednesday. The 6-5 Walker chose Miami over offers from Kentucky, Arizona, Villanova and Syracuse.

Walker led Reading High to a 29-4 record and a trip to the Class 4A state semifinals last season. He averaged 16.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists.

He joins Chris Lykes of Bowie, Maryland, and Deng Gak of Blairstown, New Jersey, in Miami's 2017 recruiting class.
