Morehead State suspends coach Sean Woods

MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) Morehead State has suspended Sean Woods and is investigating unspecified ''complaints received'' involving the fifth-year coach.

Athletic director Brian Hutchinson said in a release Tuesday night that assistant Preston Spradlin will coach the Eagles (2-2) while the investigation continues. Hutchinson's statement did not mention specifics about the investigation and said there would be no comment until its conclusion. Attempts to reach Woods were unsuccessful.

Woods' suspension comes nearly four years after Morehead State suspended him one game for berating player Devon Atkinson on the bench and appearing to make contact with him during a loss at Kentucky, where he played collegiately. Woods apologized for his behavior in the exchange.
