A native of Port Arthur, Texas, Martin chose the Bears over offers from Florida State, Tennessee, Florida, Clemson and others. He's rated the No. 1 all-purpose back and the No. 130 recruit overall in his class, according to 247sports.com.
Martin becomes the third commitment for Baylor in 2016, joining quarterback Zach Smith and cornerback KeShawn Somerville, both of whom also hail from the state of Texas.
While Baylor coach Art Briles isn't allowed to directly comment on recruits per NCAA rules, Briles still was able to celebrate the news Tuesday.
The Bears went 11-2 and won the Big 12 championship last season, falling to Central Florida in the Fiesta Bowl.
