Bowling Green running back William Houston accused of attempted rape

Bowling Green sophomore running back William Houston is being held in jail after being accused of attempted rape, reports the Toledo Blade.

Houston, 19, is scheduled for a video arraignment today in Bowling Green Municipal Court. No charges have been filed yet.

The victim told police she had been at the Manville address for a party and fell asleep. She awoke when a man “tried to force himself on her,” according to a police report. The victim told police she did not know the man, and she fled after she woke up. The victim returned to the Manville address where she met and talked to police. 

Houston had 49 carriers for 211 yards last season. He tied for the team lead with 11 rushing touchdowns in 14 games.

A spokesman said the university will conduct an investigation and Houston could face disciplinary action.
