Report: Texas dismisses senior safety Josh Turner

Texas dismissed safety Josh Turner on Friday, according to Chip Brown of Horns Digest.

No reason for Turner's dismissal was given in the report. Turner would be the sixth player that head coach Charlie Strong has disciplined this week. 

Turner played in 12 games last season, making three starts and recording 37 total tackles.

Linebacker Kendall Thompson has also reportedly been dismissed. Anwar Richardson of reports Thompson's departure is due to medical reasons.

The program dismissed running backs Joe Bergeron and Jalen Overstreet and defensive back Chevoski Collins earlier this week. Overstreet and Collins were booted because of undisclosed violations of team rules.

Kendall Sanders and Montrel Meander were suspended indefinitely after being charged with sexual assault.
