Monday August 4th, 2014

Wake Forest nose tackle Johnny Garcia has a torn ACL and is expected to be out for the season, the team announced Monday.

Garcia sustained the injury during practice on Saturday. An MRI confirmed the ACL tear.

A redshirt senior, Garcia was expected to be a significant contributor for the Demon Deacons. The 6-4, 270 lb. lineman played in all 12 games each of the past two seasons, totaling three tackles.

Wake Forest went 4-8 last season and finished second to last in the ACC Atlantic.
