Brown, a redshirt junior, began his career as a quarterback but switched to tight end during fall camp last season. He's played in one game for the Huskies.

Washington, a true freshman from Oakland, was rated a three-star recruit by Rivals. He was not expected to earn much playing time this season.

In July, presumed starting quarterback Cyler Miles was suspended for the first game of the season, which comes against Hawaii on Aug. 30. Quarterback Jeff Lindquist was named the starter for the opener on Friday.
