Boise State Broncos at Ole Miss Rebels

On the opening night of the 2014 season, the Boise State Broncos will meet the Ole Miss Rebels at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Boise State finished 8-5 overall last season and 6-2 in the Mountain West Conference, while Ole Miss went 8-5 overall but just 3-5 in the SEC.

Ole Miss facts

Bo Wallace returns at at quarterback for Ole Miss. Last season, Wallace threw for 3,346 yards, 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Sophomore wide receiver Laquon Treadwell also returns. He finished with 72 catches for 608 yards and five scores in his freshman year.

Last season, Ole Miss won the Music City Bowl 25-17 over Georgia Tech.

The Rebels are searching for their first SEC Championship since 1963. 

Head coach Hugh Freeze is entering his third season with Ole Miss. He went a combined 15-11 in his first two years with the team. 

Boise State facts

The Broncos are coming off their worst season since 1998 with that 8-5 finish last year.

Last season, Boise State lost the Hawaii Bowl to Oregon State, 38-23. 

This will be the debut game of new head coach Bryan Harsin. He takes over for Chris Petersen, who left to take over the Washington Huskies.

This season will also see quarterback Grant Hedrick under center after he split time with Joe Southwick last season. Hedrick threw for 1,825 yards in part-time play last year with 16 touchdown passes.

Running back Jay Ajayi, who rushed for 1,425 yards last season, returns for the Broncos.
