UNLV Rebels vs. Arizona Wildcats

Arizona opens the 2014 season by hosting UNLV. Arizona finished last season with an 8-5 record and a win over Boston College in the AdvoCare Bowl and will be looking to get off to a hot start before Pac-12 play. UNLV finished last year with a 7-6 mark, capped by a loss to North Texas in the Heart of Dallas Bowl.

Arizona Wildcats facts

The Wildcats have finished with eight wins in each of the last two seasons. 

The Las Vegas betting odds from Bovada set the over/under on Arizona's win total at 6.5 entering the season.

With Rodriguez leading the Wildcats, they are undefeated in non-conference games (8-0). 

Arizona has won six straight season openers.

Friday's meeting will be the third time the two teams have met. Arizona won both previous meetings, outscoring UNLV 96-34.

UNLV Rebels facts

The Rebels are just 13-38 under head coach Bobby Hauck. 

Under Hauck, UNLV has gone 3-17 in non-conference play.

The Rebels won their last two road games last season.

UNLV has not won a season-opener since 2008, when it defeated Sacramento State 38-3. 

Last season, the Rebels started the same group of offensive linemen for all 12 games. This season, UNLV will be returning four of those five players.
