Florida Atlantic vs. Alabama

Alabama defeated West Virginia 33-23 in its season opener and will host Florida Atlantic in Week 2. Blake Sims got the start at quarterback for Alabama in the opener. He threw for 250 yards and rushed for 42 more. The Owls lost 55-7 against Nebraska in their first game.

Alabama beat FAU 40-7 in 2012, the only other time the two schools have met.

Ten freshman played for Alabama against West Virginia.

T.J. Yeldon led the team with 126 rushing yards on 23 carries with two touchdowns in the opener. 

Derrick Henry was right behind him with 113 yards on 17 carries and one score. 

Amari Cooper led the way for the wide receivers, tallying 130 yards on 12 catches.

Junior defensive back Landon Collins recorded a team-high 11 tackles against West Virginia.

Backup QB Jake Coker was on the field for two plays against WVU but did not attempt a pass. He and Sims are listed on the depth chart as co-starters. 

Last week, Sims became the fourth quarterback to start a game for Alabama under Nick Saban.

Alabama WR DeAndrew White will be out for this one, after suffering a separated shoulder in the win over West Virginia. 

Alabama is 74-4 under Saban when leading at halftime.
