Three players were suspended for the Florida season opener: defensive tackles Jay-nard Bostwick and Darious Cummings for violation of team rules, and wide receiver Demarcus Robinson for a university sanction. Despite this weekend's game serving as the new opener for the team, all three players will be eligible to play.

Saturday's game will serve as the second meeting between the two teams, with Florida holding a 1-0 series advantage after a 49-10 win in 2004.

Florida is 10-1 all-time against current MAC schools.

The Gators have not lost in a home season opener since 1989.

Since 1990, Florida holds the second-best winning percentage in the nation (.863), behind only Nebraska (.866).

Eastern Michigan facts:

Head coach Chris Creighton is in his first year leading the Eagles. In his first game as head coach, EMU totaled 292 yards on the ground.

In the Eagles' season opener, sophomore linebacker Nathan Adams blocked a punt and returned the loose ball for a touchdown. It was the first touchdown of Adams' career, and it earned him Mid-American Conference West Division Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

Eastern Michigan's game at The Swamp begins a four-game road trip. According to the university's athletics page, the road trip will cover 2,006 miles over a 42 day span.

Tom Hart will be doing play-by-play and Matt Stinchcomb will serve as the analyst during the broadcast on the SEC Network.
