Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty will start Friday's game against Buffalo after missing one game with a back injury, head coach Art Briles said Tuesday night.

Petty was forced to leave Baylor's 45-0 season-opening win over SMU after cracking two bones in his spine and didn't play last Saturday against Northwestern State. He went 13-for-23 for 161 yards and two touchdowns in one half against the Mustangs.

Sophomore Seth Russell took Petty's place in Baylor's 70-6 win over Northwestern State, completing 16-of-25 passes for 438 yards and five touchdowns.

Wide receivers Antwan Goodley and Corey Coleman, who also missed the game against Northwestern State, are expected to remain out against Buffalo.
