UCLA starting safety Randall Goforth will miss Saturday's game against Texas with a shoulder injury, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Goforth started all 13 games for the Bruins last season, ranking fourth on the team in tackles. He started UCLA's first two games but sustained a separated shoulder against Memphis last week.

Sophomore Tahaan Goodman will start in Goforth's place, according to the Times. Coach Jim Mora said true freshman Jaleel Wadood will also see playing time at safety.

"Tahaan stepping in is a good thing for us," Mora said. "He’s confident. He understands our scheme. We all feel comfortable if he’s the guy that’s in there."

The Bruins are 2-0 heading into their game in Arlington.
