Four-star junior college defensive lineman Takkarist McKinley has committed to UCLA, McKinley told Scout.com on Thursday.

McKinley will enroll at the school next week and be eligible to play immediately. He will have four years to play three for the Bruins.

He was originally part of the Class of 2013 and signed with California. He was inaccurately determined to be a non-qualifier and enrolled at a community college last fall until the error was discovered.

SCHNELL: O-Line consistency is key to UCLA's playoff hopes

McKinley is ranked as the No. 6 JUCO player in the nation and No. 1 JUCO player in California by 247Sports. He also had interest from Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Arizona State

"I just signed the scholarship papers and I'm ready to go," McKinley said. "I'm very excited to be a Bruin, I've liked them for a long time, going back to high school. When I visited over the summer, I just fell in love with the place. I got to tour the campus, see the facilities and the dorms and met some really great people.
