The Vanderbilt Commodores will host the Massachusetts Minutemen this week, and both teams will be looking for their first win. Vanderbilt has been blown out by Temple (37-7) and Ole Miss (41-3) to begin the season. UMass has also failed to win a game this season after losses to Boston College (30-7) and Colorado (41-38).

This is UMass' third season as an FBS team. It has opened each season with at least five losses since making the transition.
