Iowa State offensive lineman Jacob Gannon has rejoined the team after stepping away earlier this month for "personal reasons," the school announced on Monday.

Iowa State senior offensive lineman Jacob Gannon has rejoined the team after stepping away earlier this month for personal reasons, the school announced on Monday.

In a statement, Gannon said he is being treated for anxiety.

“I have been recently diagnosed with anxiety. I am receiving treatment for my condition and I am looking forward to being a part of the football team. I want to thank Coach Rhoads and my teammates for their support.”

Gannon started eight games last season and is a three-year letter winner

The Cyclones, who are 1-2 with losses to North Dakota State and Kansas State and a win over Iowa, host Baylor  on Sept. 27.
