After an opening win over Western Michigan, the Boilermakers have dropped two consecutive games to Central Michigan and Notre Dame

When facing a non-conference foe after playing Notre Dame, Purdue is 5-0 since the Joe Tiller head coaching era began in 1997.

The Boilermakers had season highs of four sacks and nine tackles for loss against the Irish.

Southern Illinois and Purdue are meeting for the first time in their history. 

Quarterback Danny Etling was 12-for-14 for 114 yards and two touchdowns in the first half against Notre Dame.

Purdue is 4-2 all-time in games played on Sept. 20.

Sean Robinson had a career high with 10 tackles last week.

Freshman linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley has 18 tackles, an interception and a pass break-up through his first three collegiate games.

Purdue's 43 points against Western Michigan was the team's highest total under coach Darrell Hazell.

The Boilermakers' lone win last season came against an FCS school. Southern Illinois is ranked No. 14/20 in the FCS, and ranks fourth in the FCS in scoring offense.
