Old Dominion beats Rice 45-42 as time expires

HOUSTON (AP) Ricky Segers kicked the game-winning field goal with no time left on the clock to give Old Dominion its first Conference USA victory, 45-42 over Rice on Saturday.

The Monarchs led by as many as 21 points, but Rice rallied back and tied the score at 42 with 1:05 left to play. Old Dominion quickly moved down the field as Taylor Heinicke completed a 45-yard pass to Zach Pascal to put Old Dominion at the Rice 15.
