Rutgers projects that its athletics revenue will increase 16.6 percent over the next year, according to documents obtained by NJ.com.

Rutgers (and Maryland) officially joined the Big Ten this summer.

According to the documents, the Scarlet Knights' projected athletics revenue for 2014 is $35.6 million, including $8.5 million from the American Athletic Conference.

The school's projected athletics revenue for 2015 is $41.5 million, including $10 million from the Big Ten.

The documents include other details about Rutgers' finances.
