Illinois quarterback Wes Lunt cleared to play Saturday against Purdue

Illinois quarterback Wes Lunt has been cleared to play Saturday against Purdue after missing last Saturday's loss to Nebraska.

Lunt suffered an injury to his right knee the previous week in a win over Texas StateWith Lunt sidelined, backup Reilly O'Toole struggled against the Huskers, completing 17 of his 38 pass attempts for 261 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions.

Lunt transferred to Illinois and sat out last year after playing one season, in 2012, at Oklahoma State.

Over four games this season, the sophomore has passed for 1,237 yards with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions. The Illini currently rank first among Big Ten teams in passing yards per game (309.4).

Illinois is 3-2 this season with wins over Youngstown State, Western Kentucky and Texas State and losses to Washington and Nebraska.
