CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) Jacob Huesman threw four touchdown passes and rushed for two more as Chattanooga rolled past Virginia Military Institute 55-7 on Saturday.

Huesman was 15 of 22 with 178 yards and added 97 yards rushing for the Mocs (3-2, 2-0 Southern Conference). He threw touchdowns to Derrick Craine, C.J. Board, and connected twice with Faysal Shafaat to grab a 34-0 halftime lead.

Huesman scored on a 44-yard run early in the third quarter and sat out the rest of the second half. He became the first Chattanooga player to eclipse 2,000 yards rushing and 4,000 passing in a career.

Alejandro Bennifield had four carries for 70 yards in relief of Huesman and also threw a 31-yard score to Alphonso Stewart.

VMI (1-5, 0-3) was held to 165 total yards and committed three turnovers. Hayden Alford scored from a yard out with 36 seconds left to avoid the shutout.
