Oct. 4: Utah State 35, BYU 20

The Cougars dropped their first game of the season to Utah State on Friday, Oct. 4. Taysom Hill left the game in the second half with what was determined to be a broken leg. In his place, Christian Stewart threw for 172 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions. BYU held a 14-7 lead at the beginning of the second quarter, but the Aggies eventually pulled away.

Sept. 20: BYU 41, Virginia 33

The Cougars trailed 16-13 at the half but took the lead for good on Taysom Hill’s 15-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter. Adam Hine’s 99-yard kickoff return in the fourth quarter was BYU’s first kickoff return for a touchdown since 2011. Hill finished with three touchdowns -- two passing and one rushing -- and threw for 187 yards while rushing for another 72.

Sept. 11: BYU 33, Houston 25

BYU scored the first 23 points of the game before Houston rallied to make it close late. BYU had two 100-yard rushers: Tayson Hill had 160 yards, and Jamaal Williams had 139. A season-high 11 receivers caught passes for the Cougars.

Sept. 6: BYU 41, Texas 7

The Cougars scored 28 points in the first quarter, the first time they’ve done so on the road since a 41-20 win at Hawaii in 2011. Taysom Hill rushed for three touchdowns against Texas for the second straight season. Linebacker Jherremya Leuta-Douyere forced a fumble for the second straight game.

Aug. 29: BYU 35, Connecticut 10

Taysom Hill accounted for all five touchdowns -- three passing and two rushing -- for the Cougars. BYU’s defense forced turnovers on each of Connecticut’s first two possessions. The 35 points were the Cougars’ most in a season opener played on the road since 1992.

Oct. 2: UCF 17, Houston 12

UCF improved its record to 2-2 on the season with the win over the Cougars. Justin Holman threw for 101 yards and two touchdowns on just 6-of-18 passing. William Stanback led the way out of the backfield with 44 yards on 14 carries. The Knights were flagged 10 times for a total of 90 yards.

Sept. 20: UCF 41, Bethune-Cookman 7

The win was the Knights' seventh straight in a home opener. UCF has six sacks for the first time since 2010. The Knights held Bethune-Cookman to 3-of-13 on third downs.

Sept. 13: Missouri 38, UCF 10

The Knights have lost two straight games for the first time since the 2005 season. The loss snapped its school-record streak of six straight road wins. It also dropped UCF's record against teams currently in the SEC, ACC, Big Ten and Big 12 to 4-3.

Aug. 30: Penn State 26, UCF 24

UCF lost its first season opener since 2005 at South Carolina. The game was the eighth regular-season game between NCAA programs in Ireland. The loss ended UCF's school-record nine-game winning streak.
