GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) The University of Florida says that the sexual battery complaint against quarterback Treon Harris has been withdrawn.

Harris' attorney Huntley Johnson says ''I am pleased for Treon Harris and his family. I am not going to speculate on what the university will do next.''

University spokesperson Janine Sikes says in a statement that the school will ''have more information on his football status later in the day.''

Harris, a freshman from Miami, was banned from team activities Monday while authorities investigate the allegations made against him. The school said Harris was accused of sexually assaulting a female student around 3 a.m. Sunday - hours after he helped Florida rally to beat Tennessee 10-9 in Knoxville - at an on-campus residence hall.

Harris was not arrested or charged with a crime.
