Oklahoma wide receiver Dannon Cavil announced on Twitter Wednesday that he has decided to leave Oklahoma.

"After careful consideration and much prayer, I've decided to pursue a transfer from the University of Oklahoma," Cavil wrote"This was not an easy decision to make however, I believe it is the right decision for me based on my goals and aspirations as a student-athlete. I want to thank my parents, teammates, coaches, teachers and members of the athletic department who have assisted and supported me throughout this process. God bless you all."

Cavil redshirted last season and did not play this season. The 6-foot-4, 214-pounder was as a three-star recruit in the class of 2013 who also drew scholarship offers from Baylor, Clemson and Ole Miss, among other programs, according to Rivals.com.

Oklahoma (5-2, 2-2 Big 12) plays at Iowa State this weekend.
